چکیده
Introduction: is an endocrine gland located upon the hypophysial fossa of sphenoid bone in center middle cranial and surrounded by a small bony cavity (sella turcica). Radiological procedures are playing essential role present diagnostic pituitary gland. Pituitary tumours can now be visualized more accurately due to continued improvements magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques with gadolinium enhancement. Aim study: This article summarizes current knowledge about radiological particular MRI scan procedures. In this paper we also want show how looked like past nowadays. Description knowledge: Diagnostic play primary diagnosis treatment sella turcica tumours. It crucial for further locate tumour its size margins. Currently important examination just after laboratory results. That modality easily shows exact location smaller than 1 cm. differentiation lessions wouldn’t possible without contrast agents. The latest study protocols involve dynamic delayed sequences better visualisation differential diagnostic. Conclusions: During years evolved gave us perfect tool visualize pathologies.

Magnetization transfer imaging of the pituitary gland.
Magnetization transfer (MT) techniques provide tissue contrast which depends mainly on the concentration of macromolecules. The magnetization transfer phenomenon is determined by the restricted macromolecular protons and is quantified by the magnetization transfer ratio (MTR). Since many macromolecular structures are implicated in the secretory activity of the pituitary gland, this imaging tech...

In this issue of the American Journal of Neuroradiology, you will find the article “Evaluation of Diffusivity in the Anterior Lobe of the Pituitary Gland: 3D Turbo Field Echo with Diffusion-Sensitized Driven-Equilibrium Preparation” by Hiwatashi et al. I enjoyed reading this article and found it to be a nice “proof of principle” regarding the use of “diffusion-sensitized driven-equilibrium turb...

Salivary gland tumors are among the pathologies in the head and neck that may be challenging in diagnosis and treatment. Most benign tumors occur in the parotid gland. Pleomorphic Adenoma is the most common type. Basal Cell Adenoma is a subtype of the Monomorphic Adenoma with rare occurrence. Proper diagnosis and clinical evaluation by the use of radiography can lead the physician to the best t...
متن کاملUndifferentiated carcinoma of the pituitary gland: A case report and review of the literature
Primary pituitary gland cancer is extremely rare. The current study presents the case of a patient diagnosed with pituitary cancer three months after completing surgery and post-operative chemoradiotherapy for hypopharyngeal cancer. In this report we discuss 57-year-old patient who presented with diplopia and ptosis four months following the completion of treatment for hypopharyngeal cancer. A ...

BACKGROUND The sellar and parasellar region is an area where many heterogenous neoplastic, inflammatory, developmental and vascular pathologies can occur. Differentiation among various diseases may be not easy, because many of these lesions could mimic the clinical, endocrinologic and radiologic features of pituitary adenomas, which can be the cause of possible misdiagnosis. CASE REPORT We re...
